A Breath of Fresh Air for Israel's Concentration Camp

As part of Israel's population reduction agenda against the Palestinians, they have herded 1.5 million Palestinians into a desert concentration camp called Gaza.

When aid-workers try to bring them food, Israel shoots them - as with the Turkish aid ship, the Mavi Marmara.

Imagine if WW2 Germany had killed Red Cross workers who were trying to bring food & water & blankets to Jewish people in WW2 Germany camps. Of course, WW2 Germany might have argued they were doing it "for national security reasons".

While killing those aid workers would be condemned, when Israel kills aid workers attempting to help the Palestinians - American Rachel Corrie being one example - Israel expects to get away with it.

But Israel has a strong Amen Choir in the US, so they generally get away with their version of Murderous Hypocrisy.

But there is a breath of Fresh Air brewing - the opening of Egypt's borders with Gaza.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110525/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_egypt_gaza_border_3

"Egypt will open its only crossing with the Gaza Strip this weekend, the Cairo military government announced Wednesday, significantly easing a four-year blockade on the Hamas-ruled territory but setting up a potential conflict with Israel.

Egypt's official Middle East News Agency said the Rafah border crossing would be opened permanently starting Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Fridays and holidays.

This gives Gaza Palestinians a way to freely enter and exit their territory for the first time since 2007, when Hamas overran the territory, and Israel and Egypt closed the crossings."

Now the people of Gaza will have access to a little more food - which is good.

Aside from all your anti-semitic mockery of the Holocaust, now it just means Gaza will be getting more weapons to use against Israel.

You're right. Israel's blockade against Hamas is a violation of their human right to kill Jews.

Ignoring that it was the Arabs that create those camps and kept the Palestinians in them.

Your aid ships were a PR stunt. They were not intending on bringing any real aid taht would make a difference.

Why did Egypt keep their border closed for so long?

When one places themselves in front of construction machinery it is difficult for operators to see them. And then whose fault is it?

any more twisted facts that you wish to display or bring up. LemonLaw will be proud that you stepped forward :hmm:

thank you for the compliment - yes, i am anti-criminal.

the term anti-Semite is normally used when somebody criticizes Israel's criminal behavior.

of course, most Jewish people are not Semitic. but Israel has tried to conflate the 2 terms "Semitic" and "Jewish" to make it look like they have a right to the land of Palestine.

criticizing Israel is no more anti-Jewish than criticizing South African apartheid is anti-Christian or anti-white.

No one, and I mean no one is going to accuse you of knowing what you're talking about, not here anyway.

LMAO "herded 1.5 million Palestinians into a desert concentration camp called Gaza". This would be the Gaza that Israeli politicians took the unpopular political gamble to send in the IDF to force settlers out of their homes and turned it over to the Palestinians who then immediately thanked the Israelis by tossing rockets at any population center they could reach with their primitive rockets.

This is also the same Gaza that the Egyptians setup to contain the Palestinians. Egypt did not want "contamination" from those that they considered beneath them.

Those cities were originally built with Egyptian concrete.
The borders sealed with Egyptian steel and lead.

But facts are not so interesting as fables.

Even the numbers are off. typical exaggeration. Similar to the "tens of thousands" of casualties from drone strikes.

They hear something and regurgitate it rather than checking the information at face value. Checking would be embarrassing and show that one can think for oneself instead of swallowing the propganda whole.

Last I heard supplies were getting through just fine to Gaza - but once there, things got murky.

National Post - A water park in Gaza? Do hellholes have water parks?

Apparently after the Crazy Water Park (CWP), just south of Gaza City, ignored three warnings to stop hukka-sucking mommas from indulging on its premises, several dozen armed thugs operating under orders from Hamas (or at least with its tacit approval) broke into the park in the middle of the night in September and set fire to several deck chairs, a lawnmower and, more importantly, the building housing the water pumps and controls.

The riding club next door was also closed down for three days for the same offence.

Hey, wait a minute – a water park in Gaza? Haven’t we been told again and again by Western journalists reporting from the Middle East that Israel’s blockade of the Strip has turned it into a wasteland of unrelenting misery and destitution? And a riding stable! How did that get in there?

More practically, haven’t we been told that Israel’s cordon has caused so much suffering in large part because it is preventing building supplies such as concrete from reaching the Palestinians so they can fix their crumbling apartments, homes, schools and hospitals?

But water parks need a lot of cement for raging-river rides, patios and buildings housing water pumps and controls. Since CWP opened just this past May, where did the concrete come from if Israel is doing such a nasty job of keeping construction materials out of the territory?

Admittedly, all the coverage of the park torching points out that CWP was intended for use by elite Gazans; the wealthy will always find a way around the discomfort being felt by ordinary people. But the point is, the Israelis cannot be solely responsible for the denial of critical building materials to poor Gazans. The supplies are getting through. It’s just that at some point in the relief and aid process, Gazans in positions of authority are confiscating these supplies and diverting them to water-park construction. And riding-club building. And the erection of new malls, restaurants, resorts and spas.

(This is nothing new, of course, in Gaza. When Yasser Arafat was running the Strip, he and his cronies operated a kleptocracy, diverting hundreds of millions in international aid into their private bank accounts and posh seaside villas.)

Israel doesn’t cause all the damage and oppression in Gaza; far from it. Yet Western readers and news viewers would be forgiven for assuming they did. After all, when Israel invades Gaza to stop Hamas and Islamic Jihad from firing rockets into nearby Israeli towns and farms, the international press is there instantly condemning Israel for its aggression. Yet aside from a few brief news items buried on the back pages, the oppression of Gazans by Hamas – their own government – has gone largely unreported, presumably because it doesn’t fit into the Western media’s preconceived notion of Israel bad, Palestine good.

According to The Guardian, which had a surprisingly lengthy article on Hamas’ new hardline policies, Hamas has imposed “restrictions on internet cafes, the closure of beach-front restaurants over the summer … and a prohibition on the display of lingerie in shop windows.

This is the only concentration camp in history in which the population has increased over time.

How is this totally one sided trash allowed to stay open?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only to Israeli fan clubbers does it sound like ONE SIDED trash.

But Anandtech P&N is mostly an American dominated somewhat debating society.

But two things are basically true.

1. The question of a Israeli Palestinian final settlement is very likely to dominate much UN time as we move forward toward 9/2011. Meanwhile we we say at P&N will matter little but what the UN decides, is the only thing that matters.

2. Anand tech pro-Israeli fan clubbers may think they are in majority at Anand tech because they are in fact are, but when we talk about the UN that matters, not only is the pro-Israeli position in the decided minority, pro-Israeli Nations are few and far between. Not only does the Palestinians have enough to have a raw majority of votes in the general assembly, the only question is how few pro-Israeli votes their will be.

Will we get a Palestinian State in 2011 or not? Hard to be certain yet. Will the issue go away if it fails in 2011, my best guess is no, the pressure will continue to build against Israel.

Denying the Holocaust is widely considered anti-semitic, and you've endorsed Holocaust denial on this discussion board. You're best off not playing the "anti-zionism isn't anti-semitism" game. It may work for other anti-Israel posters, but not you.

Woolfe, as far as I can see, no one is denying the Holocaust on this thread.

But even if I am not happy about it, I am honesty bound to post the following link.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diploma...-block-vote-on-palestinian-statehood-1.364506

As it now looks like a single security council veto may prevent Palestinian Statehood.
Even if the 1947 intention was to co-create a Palestinian State.

But if it stands in the general assembly, its a game changer in the UN regarding a Palestinian State in 2011.
