a "black dot" on my CRT screen.. some questions..

hi guys, i've got a SONY 19inch G420 flatscreen monitor which i bought about a bit more than a year.
until yestarday i noticed a black dot which appears on the screen no matter what i am running (and its not a bit of dirt or anything)
now i tried different resolutions and even different computer and it is still there.
so whats happening.??
its getting me annoyed and i really want to get rip of it.
any ideas????

rare to see a dead pixel on CRT..
so are they fixable??
do u think sony is able to fix it or if there is any chance i can get it fixed for free under warranty???

Not a dead pixel per se.

It is dirt or debris but inside where you can't get at it.

I have 3 dead pixels on my phillips CRT...

I believe the only way for a crt to get a dead pixel would be for something to block the electron beam from passing through the shadow mask or aperture grille. Maybe knocking it around will unblock it if there's dust or something in the way.
