A bios guide that explains the options.

I am just looking for a bios guide that will help me get the most out of my computer. Main thing is the new bios I got has nano second variables when I enable 1t command and I have no idea what to set them to since the earlier version didn't have. It's an award bios by the way. I have a Chaintech VNF3-250 with the latest bios update.

Wow like I didn't try that. The only decent one I found was the bog guide and you have to subscribe to get any useful information out of it.

Sorry, it just sounded like a simple bios guide would do.

Any nano second timing options for memory, all you need to know is lower is faster.

Setting memory timings out of spec is a form of overclocking so I'd suggest you find an overclocking guide. They focus on settings that affect performance more than a bios guide. They also have info about stability testing and how to get your system back up if it won't boot after changing a setting.

Sorry for being kind of mean, it's just that information about bios settings seems to be lacking. The manuals never tell you anything and even if they did when you update your bios you often get new options.

As for the nano second read preamble and asycn values I couldn't find any that worked. I reverted back to an old bios and that let me run the memory at 1t command rate without the other options. In the latest bios I have to set these timings and it seems no matter what I do when I reboot the system speaker screams and I have to turn it off and clear the cmos.

What kind of settings are you not finding in the bios guides? Did you even look at this one?

Sometimes updates introduce issuses while solving others... that's why it's generaly best not to update the bios unless a feature you want/need is included in the update.

Well there were several features I absolutely had to have the new bios. I had to be able to set hard drive boot priority, get sata running correctly, and get accurate temps so my computer wouldn't fry itself. That link is to old and doesn't seem to show the latency settings for 1t. Well I have had problems with this board from day one. First was the fact that fast writes and a 6800 didn't mix well, and the fact that I had to put hot glue on some power coils to keep it from creating an ear splitting high frequency sound.
