I know this doesn't belong in this forum, but I could not figure out where to put this. Lately while playing counter-strike I'll receive BIG packet loss. Well It used to just occur during the uptimes of night time however, lately it has been occuring in times when I doubt a lot of people are on. Even if people were on I don't see how my cable connection could be doing this BAD! I have an Insightbb.com cable connection and a 3COM modem. Here are some screen shots of the packet loss:

Notice the loss in the bottom middle. I'm thinking it might be my router which is a GigaFast ethernet router, but I still have no idea.

Thanks in advance!

You may want to try it without a router for a few minutes to see if that's the problem. I also have Insightbb and haven't noticed any change.

It also may just be the server you're connecting to.

Regardless, it wouldn't hurt to call Insight and ask.

I think your right about calling insight, but it's so weird, this never happened until I got my upgrade. I remember trying without the router with the same results I believe but I didn't take to long testing it. Also, I know its not the server because this consistantly happens on every server.

I also did a Packet Loss test on dslreports heres the results:

EDIT: It's so weird, this does not happen on any other games. I think this may be a bug in the steam software. I honestly do not think this is my problem, because this does not occur during anything but counter-strike.

EDIT 2: This is getting really bad it will not go down. :( any other ideas?
