OK, so I've got this shower (master bath) that's a pretty big beast. It's probably only as big as a regular shower, but because it doesn't have a traditional "TUB" type basin, it's simply a tray at the bottom, (fiberglass), then from the 1st or 2nd inch from the bottom, it's tiled (4" white tiles w/ white grout) all the way up to about the 7 or 7.5 foot mark.

Aside from the 3 walls that are arranged this way, the open wall is fitted with a single one-way opening glass door (approx 2.5' wide x 6' tall) sandwiched between 2 stationary pieces of glass that are about 1.5' wide and the same 6' height. This whole glass arrangement is framed w/ aluminum and the glass is buffered between the frames w/ a grey rubber grommet/gasket whatever you wanna call it.

As we bought our house new, there was originally some clear silicone used in areas where the grey rubber doesn't make it to each corner perfectly, etc. I've since stripped & replaced the silicone once already since water seaps its way thru to the outside eventually and you can start to see where water gets in corners, etc. (dark black mold where only a toothbrush might get, etc.)

Anyway................Mildew is easy. You see pink.......use any bleach-based cleaner......it's gone.

Mold...........not as easy. Easy in the easy-to-reach places, tough in the 3-D corners especially where aluminum, tile, grout, caulk & silicone all come together.

Hard Water.........probably hardest of all. I've used "ZAP" (restorer) which does a good job, but sure is potent and dangerous.......(really etches metal if you're not reeeeally careful). I don't even know if they sell ZAP anymore, but something like that.

I even bought a Black & Decker "Scumbuster" so I didn't kill my arm muscles trying to clean the dang thing.

Anyway....................suggestions welcome & I'll post about an "old-school" cleaner in another post 'cuz this one's gettin' long.........LOL!!! TIA!!!!;)

CLR works for me. I have very hard water here and tried a number of cleaners before settling on CLR. I also use it in the empty dishwasher from time to time to keep limescale buildup from happening in there.

OK, I may have to break down & give CLR a try! ;)

Now for that old-school cleaner I was talking about..........

Comet still makes (I think) a bathroom cleaner.........BUT.........it's not the same one they had 10-15 years ago. The new one doesn't have bleach in it anymore....(I don't believe) and comes in a larger bottle.

At one point in time both cleaners were on the market at the same time.

Back then, the *other* (better) cleaner was out there and KICKED ARSE!!!!!!!!!!! It definitely had bleach in it, but cleaned stuff that no other bathroom cleaner could. Forget the Comet, forget the Tilex, Ajax, Scrubbing Bubbble-Dow crap, etc.................this old Comet cleaner just kicked tail & took names!!

Circa '95.........it went away............poof..........gone!! They left the other cleaner on the market, but took away the best bathroom cleaner I had ever seen!! Wish I could say I had a chance to use it on this current shower of ours........it'd have been a great test, for sure!!!

Oh well! :(

what about good old fashioned domestic bleach? I find it powers thru just about anything I throw it at.

I remember Comet. Are you sure it isn't still available overseas? E.g., in the UK?

Nothing beats Comet cleanser (the old school stuff in a cardboard tube), a good scrub brush and elbow grease.
