How much of this movie was all based in his head? He did go to Princeton, I assume. He did become a teacher and marry a student. What else did he do or not do?

I'm watching it as we speak, but I can't remember how it ends. I'm at the part where he meets the figment of his imagination, aka Big Brother. I'll assume he never broke a single code, including the part with the pentagon? =P
