Poor bat. Just about dusk I hear a loud "bang!" look out my sliding patio window and I catch a small black thing sort of rebounding off the window and flying away.

Wild.

First time in 15yrs living here it ever happened. I usually keep the blinds closed too. It could have been a bird but I don't think so, especially the way it took a right angle (unless it was a humingbird, but it's still way too cold for that). I live on the 3rd floor so there's no worry about me having contact with it. I'm sure a natural predator will get to it before I ever would.

birds are viciously territorial, and occasionally attack their own image reflected in windows, in defense of their turf.

So it may have been a bird. However, bats do start flying around dusk, and are famous as rabies vectors. Caution.

That's nothing.

I was sitting in the back right corner of a Middle East class in college and I look back on the ledge under the window and there is a bird wing sitting on it. Just a single wing sitting there on this ledge with the rest of the bird missing. I was all fricking A, and pointed it out to some other guy who didn't seem as shocked/amazed as me.
