I have an old p3 550 from gateway with some motherboard called a tabor III .When i open this case up theres this what i guess to be proprietary plastic mold vent type thing comoing off the power supply and on to the heatsink/fan combo on the proc. is there any chance for overclocking this old p3?and one other thing i have a geforce 2 ti from inno3d and i once saw an article from overclockersonline saying they overclocked it properly even though it has no heatsinks over the ram and not a very adaquet one over the proc.when i over clock it to there specifications i get speckles flying all over my screen in games running direct x or open gl .can anyone help?

Sounds like your p3 is a Katmai core. Not generally overclockable. As far as your vid card, you could try cooling it but IMHO its a waste of time. If you upgrade the card to a G3-ti200(or something like that) you would be better off till you can upgrade your system itself.

Check out the library at "overclockers.com", it looks like 308nato is correct, that PIII 550 is a dud when it comes to OCing, you might be able to use SoftFSB if you can find out what clock generator the Tabor uses.

EDIT: IMHO means "In my humble opinion"

is that even worth doing overclocking to 105?if i even can with stock cooling a massive fan by my vid card
