More for Drako:

S: You should learn to be more sensitive and open minded to others.

M: Great idea. How do you propose one do that? That's right, you have no idea.

S: It is not a person's fault that he or she is fat, it is predominantly their genes. One cannot chose their metabolism genes anymore than they can chose their race.

M: You are a fool. You are caught up in the illusion of blame, that things are to be described not as they connect to one another, but as a pejorative issue, that either good or evil is at the root of things. You are caught on the wheel of Karma and stuck there, never to get off. You will twirl around in endless circles.

The facts are that people get fat for a variety of reasons. It is genetic and it relates to how much you eat and how much you burn. Some folk can't get fat no matter how much they eat. Some get fat because they eat little but more than they burn. Some eat because they use being fat as a way to punish themselves. None of it is anybodies fault. The mentally ill are not responsible for being sick. They were made to be sick because sick parents, etc. had to make them feel that way. It is a total unconscious mechanical phenomenon. The fact that you blame is only a product of your own self hate. It turned you into a Karma machine. You are brain dead, but it's not your fault. You had to blame just as some had to get fat.

S: Beyond the genes, we also have societal pressure to consume certain types of food in certain quantities, because eating can be a social event as well. In that regard, it is society's fault, not the individual's fault.

M: This is a product of culture, not the fault of culture. You dip cotton in blue dye and it become blue. It's not the fault of the cotton or they dye. It is what happens by the laws of nature.

S: With all of the anti-fat hate speech in the media today, is it really any surprise that so many people have health problems because they fear that they are fat or will become fat and resort to regurgitation or starving themselves to avoid the stigma associated with being fat in our intolerant society?

M: What you have written is anti-fat hate speech. You seek to lay blame rather than self understanding because you feel better about yourself when others hurt. Is it any wonder that those who feel the guilt you lay down would feel hurt. Your purpose is to hurt. Because you have no real self respect you can never know any real compassion, not even for yourself. But it's not your fault. You had to be that way.

Only he who seeks consciousness knows what is to suffer, and only with those who have suffered and died will you find real compassion. You are a stone in a river of tears that has never been turned.

When you get older running eventually just does not work. Even Knees will ware out if you keep running all the time. I was in the army for 10 years and I have seen this a lot.

Are you a Fat Biggott?
If you hate fat people, maybe you have a problem.

If there is any fault to be found here, it's in our culture of worshipping unrealistic ideals for standards of beauty. We should not be blaming anyone for being "fat", but rather we should be looking deeper within ourselves to be able to see the beauty in anyone regardless of weight. We should accept that sexual attractiveness comes in all shapes and sizes, and recognize that discrimination in any form is detrimental.

Not too, there are plenty of older runners. The prime age for distance running is in the 40s. Army runners tend to wear out faster because of training and equipment(shoe) deficiencies.

Not true.

Many people run in their 60's, 70's, 80's. It's about running properly, and not stressing your body more through poor form, eating, etc. If you don't believe me, look at Dean Karnazes. Look at the Tarahumara tribe in Mexico (book Born to Run). Look at marathons and other races, the results will show runners that are older and have run for many years. Look at marathoners who have run 100's of marathons in their life. Look at ultra-marathon distance runners.

Running in the Army might not be the same (never been in it, so I don't know) as running for "fun". I don't carry heavy loads while running, I run in good running shoes, and I don't do other things that can stress joints which the military needs you to do. I don't know if you can run as a casual runner does (light clothes, running shoes, at most 3-4 lbs of water/gels/cell phone/etc), so the Army might not be a good source for why peoples knees blow out.

IIRC you peak speed wise around 27, and peak distance wise in 40's.

I refuse to pretend that fatties aren't disgusting. I might politely not mention it most of the time.

When one of my chubby lady friends whines about not being able to find a decent guy I will grab her belly fat, wiggle it, and say "get rid of this and you'll do fine."

I think we should ban talking about anything that makes me uncomfortable. That way I can ignore all my problems.
