Looking for benchmark results for a 4Ghz (also 3.6Ghz, if anyone has the time) and HD5850, on 3DMark06. I want to know how much more than 20K they score.

Found this by Googling:
Q9650 3.6 5850 stock 19150 3dmark06
Q9650 3.8 5850 stock 20073 3dmark06

My Q6600 @ 3.6, CF 4850 stock, scores 19,500+ on 3dmark06. So it appears, even though the Q9650 is faster clock-for-clock than my Q6600, that two 4850s in CF are faster than a 5850. (Edit: makes sense, 1600 combined shaders versus 1440.)

Found this:
i7-920 @ 4.0Ghz, CF 5850, 23,361 3dmark06

3DMark06 scores with the 4870s in Crossfire:

Intel E8400 @ 3.0GHz = 15,500
Intel E8400 @ 3.6GHz = 18,200

3D Mark 06 : 25405-->I7@3.9GHz + CF XFX HD4890 XXX/ 1GHz / 1050 MHz

If you're wondering if 5850 is an upgrade to 4850 xfire, not much.

I don't have 3dmark06 nor do I have a i7 920. Furthermore I don't even run my 5850 at stock speeds :)

But with 3dmark Vantage with my 5850 clocked to the following these are my gpu scores.

i5 750 @4.2ghz GPU @1.275v Modded Asus bios
875/1225....16918
890/1250....17229
950/1300....18997
975/1300....19364
1000/1300....19726
1015/1300....19788....Not 100% stable would need more core voltage but not going higher

i5 750 @4.0ghz GPU @1.1875v modded Asus bios
950/1100....18396
950/1200....18617
950/1300....18948

I'm no expert but doesn't 3dmark06 score alot higher than 3dmark Vantage does. So I'd have to assume you could maybe add a couple K on to the score :)

Maybe not much help but at least it'll show some scaling.

Just to show you how irrelevant 3dmark06 is at the default res of 1280x1024. I get 19500ish with my crossfired 5870's with a q6600 at 3.6. I get 18700ish with 1 card. Am i worried that my crossfired rig is borked? Absolutely not. At 1280x1024 there is a horrible cpu limitation in 3dmark06 with highend graphics cards and just about any cpu.

Getting a core I7 heavily oc'ed would make my 3dmark06 score go up nicely but in reality only make my wallet lighter and virtually unnoticed in actually gameplay

I would much rather game on 1 5850 versus 2 4850's. I'm sure the 5850 would pull way higher minimums
