I saw that, I'm amazed he survived that long.

Sucks that they had to sink his house though.

Thats pretty sad how he lost everything. Alteast he kept his life though. Anyone else probably would have killed themself or something after 1 maybe 2 months...

Amazing, I guess from the story he had no family to report him missing and lived on that boat?

How much do you want to bet that after reading this story someone or some org. buys him a new boat?

I'd hope so. Its got to be tough watching everything you have sink to the bottom of the ocean.

If I had $100 million I'd buy him a new boat.

Just KNEW what this thread was going to be about! Scarey, starting to think like RED. :D

Book rights alone (picture Tom Hanks) should get him a new house/boat. Think he will sail again after this??

I'm surprised he hasn't been sued for copyright infringement by the owners of the rights to Gilligan's Island. ;)

The boat was so badly damaged that it had to be sunk.

It didn't look that bad to me.

I think they just needed the target practice!

'splain to me how this guy set sail from Long Beach, CA for a 26 mile trip to Catalina and was found off the coast of Costa Rica. Long Beach is on the west coast of the US and Costa Rica is off the East coast of the US. There are only three ways to get from Long Beach to Costa Rica:
1. He floated through the locks of the Panama Canal without anyone seeing him.
2. He floated South around the tip of South America, I believe it's called the Cape of Storms, and then floated north to the point where he was discovered.
3. He floated West across the Pacific, eventually passing by the Southern tip of Africa, across the Atlantic to the point where he was discovered.

Did I misunderstand something?
