So my WRX is going to be sold at the end of Sept to a friend of mine. He's been wanting my car because he has a WRX bone stock and doesn't want to put money into it when he knows he can have mine with all the work done already.

So.... AT Garage what should I get for my next car?

I've decided I should get either one nice car that can do it all or I can get a combo of two.

I was thinking about going to a 2008+ STi Hatchback and roll the dice on the ringland failure. But these other cars have me thinking...

135/335

S4

G8 GT

FRS (mainly for warranty)

S2000 + daily beater (the only two car combo I can think of under 25k)

G35 sedan

or... get daily driver now and just wait it out till next year when new Z35 and WRX/STI come out

Based on your list I would give a Lexus IS350 for a spin / as an option.
When I was shopping looked at newer WRX, S4, 335i, g37, an IS350.

... after driving all, ended up with an IS350, so far, awesome car.

those are the two options I find I would personally have at the top of my list out of what you posted.

Oh I forgot about the IS350... a/c cooled seats is a huge plus for me. Wearing the air force uniform is not comfy

135 is the most desirable on that list for me. Whether you can get one that won't eat the hair off your skull in various maintenance and repairs is another issue.

Alternatively, see if you can live with an FRS, from a size and performance standpoint. It might be a fun long term car, to buy now, then keep after you get another car, and turn it into a project. If you plan to resell, I'd probably look elsewhere, as depreciation may be quite bad, unless they suddenly turn into a classic ten years down the road.

i edited your post in my quote to reflect my opnion. 135 with a few bolt on and a tune are 350+ whp and 400+ft lbs so i am very bias towards those.

if you plan on doing track days or playing more with autoX and what not and i would go with a clean S2k one can be had for 12-18k pretty easily leaving you 4-6k to pick up a cleanish reliable beater (03+ V6 accord).

The only car I would auto cross out of the list is the FRS/S2000 due to cheaper consumables.

I like the S2k + beater but finding a 2004-2008 under 18-20k is a stretch, I'll keep looking. I wrote a post on here back in May how I don't want the AP1 just AP2 or no go.

The guy I bought my WRX off of moved into a 335xi

I got a month to decide what to do and I'll just jump on the best deal I see, or get into the beater and find the perfect S2000 maybe this winter

of those the s2k will probably see the least depreciation, if that's a consideration
