A $100 from newegg on the 1800xt?????

So, I would gladly pay the extra 100 dollars to zipzoomfly for the free 2nd day shipping

Of course, Newegg is out of stock and zipzoomfly is not out of stock. Maybe, newegg dropped the price to try and keep people from blowing their ... I mean spending their money at other online retailers?

Tell me about it, i mean newegg should have some in the next week or so if they have a page for it now. Who would pay $100 more? lol

Thats a 100$ price margin?

You can guarantee if newegg had them in stock, they would be for $699 as well. Newegg likes to show a low price, to get hits on search engines for low prices. Then when stock comes back in, they raise the prices. Until cards show up in real numbers, prices will remain high. Same as for every other newly released video card that sells out.

Read some of the other threads and you'll learn the x1800's do have a number of advantages over the 7800s. Also, some people want the best and don't want to wait will pay the premium. Folks have been buying the new 7800GTX 512mb for $800(some even buying two) this week when on monday(official launch) the price will probably fall to $650.

Another question, who would pay $700 for a x1800xt when for $200 less they could get a 7800?

Looks like a bitter person who doesn't have the $$$ to shell out for a card.

Sounds more to me like a person who knows how to spend his money. Put that extra would-be-spent $200 (neglibile performance difference) toward a next-gen card instead. Better yet, just wait for the X1800XT to be at some affordable level. There's hardly a difference in performance of today's games between 256 MB and 512 MB.

If the XT was $499 I'd have sold my GTX and bought one but hell, ATi is having trouble just keeping these things in stock.

Thats because theyre so much better than the 7800GTX at AA/AF esp with the catylist 5.11. I would rather spend $600 on booze than a video card, but Im in college and gaming isnt that high of a priority atm, maybe during Christmas break Ill care more and when I get a pci-e mobo (rig in my sig is only for oc, noplaying games).
