A “light” vShere client?

Hi guys,

I don’t want to have full blown vShere client install on some computers (wife/kid) but would like to have the vShere capability (equivalent of plugging a keyboard/mouse into the VM). W/o all the extra menu for configs/edit/create VM etc etc. Basically something simple as the pop-up console windows only.

Is there a way to do that? RPD doesn’t work as well as the vShere client.

Apparently you can use VNC for direct console access.

It turns out VMware has exactly what I need, I just didn't dig deep enough. It's VMRC.
