first trip. I tried watching the original...too corny and upbeat for my tastes. Perhaps I am just too used to the good computer effects. I like the new one TONS though, as it more reflects the bleakness of the events.

I remember the original series on TV and I liked the new show on SciFi. But I don't see what they could do on the big screen, the remainder of the TV series was of this ragtag fleet finding supplies and avoiding the Cylons until they found Earth. I d admit that the new show has a few unanswered questions, but not enough to dedicate an entire movie to it.

I know what you mean. But, that didn't stop Star Trek now did it!? . I think the dogfights in the new BG have been pretty intense. I think they've done well with the emotional tie-ins as well, especially given the short air time to work within.

Normally I would say, WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU MORON, OBVIOUSLY BATTLESTAR GALACTICA COULD NEVER COMPARE TO STAR WARS.
But since Phantom Menace was a piece of crap and Attack of the Clones was only halfway decent, who knows, maybe galactica could be a better movie. I used to watch the original show all the time, but it was pretty corny.
None of them will compare to the original SW movies.

LMAO!!! . I agree that none will compare to the original SW's. Just think if someone with the vision and creativity of Peter Jackson were to run w/BG. No doubt Lucas created more than just a movie with his Star Wars story (I've always enjoyed the books more than the movies) but I think he did a better job with the story than he did with the movies. The new ones are good, for space/action movies... just nowhere near worth the hype that's attributed IMO. I think most people, even the SW fanboys are more in love with what the movies 'should' be than what they 'are'. That's just a narrow minded personal opinion though...

I'm definitely one of those SW fanboys.
I was 7 when the original was released.
I got everyone I knew to take me to it. Probably saw it close to 10 times in theaters.
And I'm guessing I've seen it at least 50 times altogether over the years.

I was totally crushed when I saw Phantom Menace.
But I actually enjoyed ATOC quite a bit. I do think it was much better, but it also helped that after PM, I wasnt' expecting much from ATOC and was actually pleasantly surprised. So I do still have hope that Ep 3 will be good.
