__Moving a PEntium M Processor to another Laptop_

I have two laptops, a Compaq HP Evo n8000 w/ Pentium M 1.6 and a Dell Inspirion 8600 w/ Pentium M 1.4.

My question, is it easy just to open them up and swap the processors, do you think I'd have to re-install the OS?

you wouldn't have to reinstall the os
if they are the same socket and bus speed (both Pentium M and not P4m) then it shouldn't be a problem

The CPU may be removable on either machine, but it may also be soldered on. But if it is removable, just swap and it should work.
