____Newegg "Open Box" process?____

What's the deal? :shocked:

1. I ordered an open box HD on 03/22 and received an email confirmation of the purchase.
2. On 03/23 I received an email notice from Newegg that they received my request for an "RMA" on the drive. They also sent me notification that...
"We have since opened the package and are hereby notifying you of the contents we received: 22-144-122R HD 80GB|WD 7200RPM 8MB WD800JB"

3. I checked my order history and found I was charged for the drive on 03/22 and also found that I was refunded my payment for my "RMA" on 03/23.

I sent the customer service an inquiry about this, but haven't heard back.

* Has anyone encountered a similar situation with the Egg? :roll:

Just sounds like someone screwed up. Bound to happen occasionally in an operation as big as that.

I just don't understand why I would have got 3 emails about an RMA that I never initiated.
Looks like I'll order from another vendor if Newegg doesn't come through.
