1. Flash memory is cheap, we all can agree on that.
2. MB manufacturers are loading boards up with more and more bells & wistles.

To really boost performance, why don't MB makers build in a OS flash drive of say 2GB?
It seems like the production costs would be minimal when considering the performance benefit.
I would buy one! :laugh:

Probably because the dominant OS (Windows) assumes your OS install drive is also your primary storage drive?

The BIOS could be configured to show the "drive" was an install option.
XP can be installed on a USB drive for crying out loud. :p

That would make a good swap drive, except:

1. People who buy those boards are very likely to blow money on tons of memory.

2. Flash doesn't last all that long, and is unsuitable for a swap file.
