Saturday morning about 12:30am, I awoke to my wife screaming that a car had hit our house.
In the few minutes it took us to get out the door he/she had bolted. Leaving us with a damaged house.

* The meat of the request *
I found glossy black trim peices laying by the corner of the house.
In the light of day I noticed that there didn't seem to be any paint left behind on the bricks.
> Pic Here & Here < > The path

Question 1. Was no paint left behind because the vehicle had plastic body panels rather than painted metal?
Question 2. What brands of car makers use plastic panels instead of painted metal?

* I did call 911 and reported the hit & run. A deputy took some pics and made a report.
* I've compiled a list of 39 body shops in my area to call and inform.
* We called our insurance company and left a message reporting the incident.
* I made a yard sign asking the driver to contact the deputy (I know... I know... you don't have to say it). :p

Most car front ends are plastic, so it could be anything. As far as whole car bodies, the Fiero, Saturn and through '95 Pontiac Transport minivans all had plastic bodies. It'll be hard, though because it really could be any car.

Yes, our homeowners insurance will cover it. But the fact is that the drivers insurance should be the one paying.

The damage should be very distinct since they hit the corner of our brick house.
That would be something body shops should recognize.

I have no idea how they were able to leave so fast.
My wife had just walked our new puppy around that same corner about 1 minute before the car hit.

BTW, There have been many cars slow down to read the sign. Maybe one of them is a neighbor to the driver.

Wow.

Why are you the one calling the body shops? Shouldn't the police be doing that?

LoL... That's a good one!
This is the real world... Not CSI.

If any information is going to be churned up, it will be by me doing it.

That's a nice yard stick. It stands out very well against the brick of your house. Where did you get that? I want one, just in case someone runs into my house.

It took your wife less than a minute to come inside and do something that took a few minutes to undo and go outside to look at a car impaled on your house? The only thing I can think of is that you 2 were getting it on, because walking the dog is so erotic. Then the car hit your house, and you two thought it was a earth-shattering orgasm and kept going at it.

That is a seriously cute puppy tho.

The car didn't drive through the wall and park in your house, what's the problem?

Well, I say that because this isn't a simple mall parking lot fender bender, the guy drove across a lawn into a house, I think they may be interested in saying hello to him... I guess not?

There was no personal injury.
They look at it as mainly an insurance matter at this point.
