it should be just American. your ancestors came from Africa and mine came from France and Germany. i don't call myself a French American or German American because that was so many generations ago it's really not who i am or who you are. i'm a mix, a mutt, just like the rest of you.

It's usually the people of color that want to detinguish themselves with "African, Asian, Hispanic, etc", not everyone else.
