Would a regular USB hub function as a printer sharing device between two PCs? I'm thinking of using a hub in place of a USB switch.

I do not believe so, I think u need a 10/100 ethernet hub...

I'm trying for basic USB printer swapping.
I didn't know if having two PCs going into the same hub would cause some kind of signal problem or not.

No, that wouldn't work. That's basically backwards of how USB hubs work. One computer, multiple peripherals, not the othe way around.

You'd either need to set it up on one computer, share the printer, and then network the two computers, or you'd need to set up the printer with some kind of network connection (some wireless base stations even have USB ports to share printers with).

I thought I might get by cheaper than buying a USB switch. But hubs really aren't much cheaper anyway.
