Like the title says, I know beans about portable computing 😱
Here's the situation...
My wife's niece's husband is going to be teaching (something), that requires him to grade papers. He can grade papers on his aging PC, but would would like to come up with a portable alternative. An alternative for $2000 or less. He and his wife fly, so they'd also like to be able to watch DVDs on the plane. Oh, he wants to burn CDs also.
He doesn't need it to scramble eggs though 😉
Keeping his price guide in mind, I suggested that he upgrade his current PC and maybe get his (or his & hers), PDA's of some flavor. And maybe a portable DVD player for the flights.
Can he grade his papers on any of the PDA's that are out now?
Is a "laptop" the natural salution in his situation?
Any suggestions?
