___ Headphones... behind the neck or clip ons? ___

I need to buy some headphones to use at work.
The environment is pretty loud. So I need some good headphones that will block out as much as possible.
Because I need to move freely, I'm thinking some behind the neck or clip on type headphones will do the trick.

Does anyone have input about some good quality, comfortable headphones in either catagory?

Seems like Sony neckbands are well liked.

Suggestions from users here? :)

Thanks

I have a pair of Koss clip on headphone - the 35s I think, and I wouldn't recommend them. The clip gets slightly painful after a while, and the phones aren't held tight to your ear - they tend to flap after a bit.
They are no good at blocking out outside noise, and I'd guess other clip ons have the same problem.

I've always heard Sennheiser makes quality audio products. Looks like the PMX 60's are the only behind the neck headphones they offer.

Anyone use these puppies?

Get some in-ear ones. I have a Sony pair and they block out a ton of sound.

I'm looking to spend between $15-$40 for some headphones.
I'm worried that the ear bud type phones would pop out and be a bother.

ear buds suck... i gave them a try and it depends on the shape of your ear. I spent more time adjusting them than listening to songs.

I wound up with the ksc50s - cheap and the bass is definitely sufficient from a dependable name brand. I think there are sennheisers that are comparable or even better but I'm not going to buy online for something < $20 or thereabout.

Another vote for the KSC-50s. They are comfortable and sound great. There are only two complaints I have about them:

1) They are not the best fo jogging, as the movement may cause them to rattle around a bit.

2) The sound leaks out a bit, so if you like to listen to your music really loud in a place where other people don't want to hear it, you may want to look at something that seals better.

Not at all. They stay in VERY snuggly and I never have to worry about them coming out, unless something pulls on the cord. Plus, they offer different size nubs that help for different ear sizes.

you need something in-ear if you need them to be easy to move in and block out sound. the little over-ear ones like the beck-band or clip-on styles will not block out any sound at all.

Clipons.

Then again, I have such a massive amount of fluffy hair that no normal behind the head pair of headphones could ever work.
