I'm looking at AGP cards for low end builds. Which card would be better overall for the task? Office apps and extremely light gaming (if any at all).
* PC 9250
* GB FX5200
* E MX4000

CPU - P3-800-1GHz
RAM - 512MB
HD - 7200rpm

BTW, Passive cooling is a must.

Out of the list i would say the fx5200. The mX4000 is absolute trash. Some might say the 9250 but its just a slightly higher clocked 9200se, i had a 9200se and compared it to my 5200, and it was a lot inferior to the 5200.

Anyways u can get a lot better cards than that, see if u can find a 6200, its is a LOT faster and u might find it cheap (even the turbocache one beats the fx5200 hands down.) Also have a look at some second hand shops, i picked up a 9600xt for 50 bucks Australian, considering a new 5200 costs in the vicinity of 60 - 100 bucks i think its a good deal considering its a lot faster and better choice for my old games rig :p

Never used the matrox so cant really comment on it.

Out of those, the 5200, however the 7300GT is not too expensive and is actually a worthwhile card. IMO there's almost no point getting something like a 9250 over integrated graphics.
