I went to a local Best Buy today and saw a hand written price tag of $999.99 on a Visiontek card. It doesn't say what it is. Just the scew number and it's from Visiontek.
Any idea what this could be? It can't be a new GF4 card, can it?

I can think of many cards that would be priced that high, but none of which VisionTek manufactures. Are you certain it was indeed VisionTek?
VisionTek sticks to the consumer garohics card market, and $999 hardly fits into that.
Best guess I can make is perhaps an advertisement box for a future GF4 Ti4600 based on nVidia's Personal Cinema?
Even then it would be awfully pricey for a consumer card.
Probably an AutoCad video card... most likly the Quadro. Although I don't think VisionTek make Quadro based cards.
No, it's not the GeForce 4. These will come out Febuary 6th or so.
Could be a mistake. Maybe someone switched some prices around?

That's just the thing they don't make any CAD cards or anything of the like, ther products are all basically for the home consumer.
I agree, the price tag was most likely written wrong.
It's probably an Xtasy 5864 GeForce 2 Ti card on sale.
Although they have 2 proffesional graphics cards over $1000 here. Link
Are these the Quadro type cards you guys are mentioning?
A 128 MB card and a 80MB card.
I didn't think retail stores such as BB sold those though.
