The 996 Turbo lacks character!! It has all of those slits, and scoops and it just makes it look silly. The 993 Turbo has those muscular hips and fixed tail and it just looks flat-out GORGEOUS.

I am of the form should follow function school of design.

I know we are discussing a matter of taste in cars. The 993 was an old design that Porsche had managed to keep up to date enough for the faithful. But the 996 is a modern car, well as modern a rear engine car can be. The 996 is even water cooled!

For the 996's price you get a higher level of performance that any other car in its class can delever. You could argue that the Corvette offers more bang for the buck but I think the Porsche ia s more sophisticated car.

I've ALWAYS maintained that the 996 Turbos are fugly...ever since they first came out. I've never changed my position. The 996 is too "trendy" to stand the test of time like the 993. It looks flattened and stretched out. It will NEVER last 30 years like the original 911 series did.

And what is this 966 and 933 you speak of?? J/K

the 993 is my favorite gen Porsche of all time - looks gorgeous with those 18" rims But the performance and power of the 996 is very desirable at the same time....ohhh decisions decisions
