990x and windows showing 4 cores only

I have a 990x, just replaced my 930...

task manager is only showing 4 cores, same with cpu-z... in device manager it shows all 6.

any ideas?

no... i was hoping to avoid that... i know, half assing, was hoping it would be plug and play

figured it out... had to go to msconfig -> boot -> advanced and uncheck the "8" core option (hyperthreading)

man i was worried!

OS setting was carried over from your 930. Even CPUs are not totally PnP.
