is the Sony one better than a Plextor or LiteOn??
also is there any problems burning back up of software??

ive heard that the Plextor 24x firmware doesnt let you burn some software

is that true??
 
Bought a 16x from $taples....so far works fine. Have problems burning AOE2, but I guess that's normal. Other than that no problem burning other stuff....

It is probably not excellent, but S0ny can't be TOO bad... better than unbranded drives at least.🙂

The software came with is pretty bad, never use it after the first time, and switched to Ner0.
 
this sony unit got a horrible reveiw at tomshardware.com they basically say that it is the worst out of all the 24x models on the market! Even HP dropped sony as their oem'er for cd-rw drives

HaHa...it's funny and a shame when you rip some text from a FW deal that the link (Here is the Link) doesn't transfer here !
 
anyone know how good these drives are compared to...? why not to buy, etc? anyone know someone that has reviews on cdrw drives?
 
I bought one a few months ago and I am VERY disapointed!!! The sofware that came with it didn't work, I had to down load patches from their poor website. I continue to get buffer underrun errors. I have to clock it down to 6X to get it to work and this is writing from my harddrive to the burner. It had a mail in rebate so I can't return it. Please learn from my mistake. It is not a good product and Sony does not help you much. Stay away for this one.
