from what i had read it will basically be the 785g/880g part again.

the 990fx is effectively still the same old 890 / 790FX we've been using for a while. only real differences are the southbridges.

The 990FX was probably released early for the enthusiasts who could put there existing Phenom ][ X6's and discrete cards onto the new boards.

You probably won't see the 990GX's until the Athlon FX CPU's hit the market later this summer.

athlon fx?

FX is the name of the new bulldozer.

i gues sif you really wanted to getit now, there are a few AM3+ 880G boards already out there. I know gigabyte makes one. and there are even a few 760G boards that support am3+.

granted you wont get the new southbridges (those all seem to have sb710)

if you look at that, the 980G on there looks the same as the 880g except it has SB920 and most 880g/785g boards come with sb710. if you look at the same page, at the bottom it seems to say sb920 will barely be different from sb850, so it basically just gives you sata3
