9800XT stock cooling -- good enough?

Nocturnal

Is the stock cooling on a 9800XT card good enough? I don't overclock or anything but I wouldn't want it to burn itself out overtime.

do you really think ati would give out 5 year warranties on their cards if the stock cooling was so bad that they would burn out over time?

Depends on your definition of "good".. they definitely do their job, but if you have other considerations like noise/looks etc.. you might wanna change its cooler.

Why would they give out crappy cooling? It'll work fine.

No, it's horrible, and somehow each and every 9800XT managed to make it past all the quality control engineers and marketing crew to consumer hands, whereupon they instantaneously burst into flames.
