9800XT running very hot

What are the normal operating temps on a 9800XT. Mine is roughly 68c, and 73c when gaming. I just got this card back from ATI. Some problems are about 15 minutes into the game the computer just stops responding and the game freezes. SO any help on how to keep it cooler would help.

up to 80 C is normal 😛

and cool your case as much as possible . . . . the 9800xt runs hot (my case temps went up until i changed the VGA cooler) . . . . .

IF your warranty is eXpired, you might try a Arctic-Cooling Silencer 3 - it exhausts the hot air out of your case (taking up PCI slot 1).

edit: What game locks up?

ALL games? . . . if just ONE game, it might need a patch or different drivers or your settings too 'aggressive'. 😉
