Hey guys, today I was trying to help my roomate with his new 9800xt and I told him to run both 3dmark01 and 03 just to show off the card, before running them, I thought I had disabled the AA and AF by both trying just Performance only and then using custom settings and turning everything low, but it says Application control for both AA and AF, well, I assumed I turned them off. Anyway, the scores are ~2400 for 03 and ~9800 for 01. I know for a fact that the AA and AF are not past 2x. So what could be causing this problem. The computer specs are as follows:

Dell p4 1.7
512 mb pc2100 ram
unsure about everything else.

I'm thinking it might be the power supply either being too low or the way its hooked up(I followed the diagram in the manual) or a bad card. Anyway, any help would be great.

if you have the aplication control boxs for d3d selected then aa and af are off and dell powersupplies are respectable so i doubt that is an issue. the p4 1.7ghz is dog slow but even then those scores look really low. i'm guessing the computer had a nvidia card in it and you just pulled it out and put the ati in? if that is the case then the nvidia drivers are still in the system and causing all sorts of trouble. you can try driver cleaner but at this point the most sure bet for geting things working right is just to wipe the drive and put on a fresh install of the os.

I would also check driver issues. But as TheSnowman said, thats a pretty old CPU. While 03 is heavily biased toward the video card I bet that old CPU is holding it back. But I browsed a few systems with the same CPU and they all seem to get much higher scores (5500+) so I would suspect there is a problem thats holding it back. The PS might be an issue.

Thanks guys, about the drivers, there was a geforce2MX in there, I used DriverCleaner to clean it all out. I'll try running it again to see if that helps.
