9800SE soft-modded successfully!

Received my new AIW 9800SE about an hour ago and i'm ecstatic to confirm it's softmodded perfectly using the Omega drivers!

Benchmarks are through the roof compared to my old Ti200.

3DMARK 2001 - 17795 3DMARKS.

3DMARK 2003 - 5720 3DMARKS.

AQUAMARK 3 - 41881 Aquamarks.

Codecreatures PRO - 3643.

Been testing a few games and demos, all work fine so far, COD runs smoothly and looks beautiful at 1024*768 4xAF 8x AA and there are no visual errors or checkerboard artifacts WHATSOEVER!

I might have a go at overclocking the core tonight and see what it yields.

Not bad for a £200 card that turns into a £350 card, eh?

Nice change from the good old GF3.
So you bought a 4 pipeline 256 bit card and got 4 pipielines re-enabled.
BBA, Sapphire, Powercolor?
There are only 4 pipeline 128 bit Sapphire ones in my country now, but there were some cards like yours before. Roughly every third Sapphire could be modded. You are very lucky. Other brands are pretty unknown to me.

It was a BBA card and I bought it form Ebay as 100% guaranteed soft-moddable, so it was in the bag really. I'm bloody happy though! Do those benchmark scores look like what they should too?:beer:

Benchmarks were dona at High wuality settings BTW.

low? I thought 5500+ was average for a 9800PRO.😕 It is on 'quality' settings too in the drivers, im sure it would improve if I set the tab to 'performance'. No?:beer:

EDIT - The scores can't be low, my system beats an overclocked Sapphire 9800 PRO on an XP 2300Mhz, and is around 1500 3DMARKS higher on 3DMARK2001 compared to their test rig at stock speeds. In fact my system at stock beats all of their overclocked test scores, apart from 3DMARK2003...:beer:

I've also just been playing UT2003 with 4xAF and 8xAA and will someone please tell me how I ever lived without it? Theres NOT ONE jagged edge in the whole game no matter how hard I tried to find one, it looks absolutely perfect and maintains a constant 70+fps. Awesome, absolutely awesome, MUCH better quality than my Nvidia card. And that's an objective poingt of view, i'm no fan boy... although that may change if this card carries on impressing me so much! 😀:beer:
