My roommate has a 9800 pro 128 meg in his computer. In my old computer I have a 9600xt 256 meg card. I am upgrading to an SLI rig so he asked if he should use my old card. I know 9800 to 9600 is a step back but since my xt card has double the ram I wasn't sure. Should we replace the 9800 pro?

Thanks

9800 pro.Dont get fool by this extra 128 meg.In some game the extra memory can help for some stuff, but you will always end up with better framerate with the 9800 pro.

Lots of card got 256....there is some 9200 too with 256...which are crappy.

The 9800 pro will be much more powerful, and there will be few instances when you're encountering 256MB of textures.

Yes, right now you only need 256MB for 3DMark2005 and for playing Doom3 at 'Ultra' settings. 128MB will be enough for now.:)

Sadly, now even your mom will have a better video card than I. :(
