I've been using RadClocker

RadClocker

It adds a Clock Speed property page to the ATI control panel, I don't see the need for the "full service" packages as I use the Cat 3.7 to change options and the up-coming Cat 3.8 set supposedly is even better, more options, etc.

Some people just prefer to use official drivers rather than ones that have been tinkered with. Some of the things Omega does to the drivers don't always work out for all users, that and some users might be doing their own modifications and therefore wouldn't want a modified driver set in the first place.

Me too.

1- Slightly improved image quality.
2- No need to uninstall old drivers.
3- Comes with overclocking utility.
4- No separate control panel to install.

www.omegacorner.com for those

Since I'm new to OC'ing video cards I had a quick question before I start. If by chance I go to high and get artifacts, will I have to reboot or will I be able to reduce the clock speed to a safe level and not have to reboot?

Thanks

Well if you get artifacts you should quickly as possible re-clock to defaults speeds, reboot and if you wish, try again in a smaller increment (in a nutshell)

I have a retail 9800 Pro. What do you think I should shoot for? I'll creep up little by little to see how high i can personally go.

could you run the omega drivers with radclock, as i've set all my games with different settings through radclock and have my desktop at default clock speeds.

No problem with the Omega 3.6 I'm using my overclock on my 9800 Pro is at (415/365). No need for a 9800XT for me! :)

I'm not gonna overclock mine yet, as it is entirely a waste, but is there any way to get radclocker on Windows XP (that windows installer thing is only for 98)? I don't want the extras of the rage3d tweak or the new drivers with the omegas, just an extra tab like in the NVidia overclocking tweak.

Will OC at a later date as it is not necessary at this time. Wait and see what cat 3.8 do to it (overdrive)
