9800pro or X800?

I'm looking at uprading my system and I'm not sure if this card will be faster.

yes it will, but get a 6800 gt for 100 dollars more. the 6800gt will kill that card, and with a p4 3.4 you are set with it.

it will be faster, its hard to find a direct comparison of agp vs pci-e cards on close systems

here is a benchark for many games. the 9800pro is ok speed.

now the x800 isnt explictly there but if you look at the benchmarks for the 6800 plain vanilla verison, it should be comparable.in Half Life 2, the X800 will be faster and in DOOMIII, the 6800 will be much faster but for the other benches, the x800 might be faster by just a little bit.

I think you might be right about the 6800gt.

It will be more like $140 more, and it isn't worth it at that point. I think that this card will be a good step up from the 9800 Pro to match a 3.4 P4, especially.
