what do you think i would be better off, getting a arctic cooler for the 9800pro or a putting a 92mm fan in the left side of the case blowing directly on the agp slot? i can't hit xt speeds with the stock cooler and that is what i am trying to achieve.

Just out of curiosity, how much better is a Zalman than an ATI Silencer, realistically speaking? I'm looking for something to port the air directly from the case as well.

This Thread created by RussianSensation contains a pretty decent review of a few of the best coolers on an x800.

Zalman looks pretty sweet.

Thanks for fixing my link. Trying to linkify in a hurry is not my best talent.

It is quite weird how Zalman had the best cooling and not the quietest operation. They have a reputation of good cooling at the quietest operation.

To be honest, that doesnt deter me from the Zalman. I think the small increase in noise over the competition is outweighed by the extra cooling power.

no probs, with 8 fans in my case, i doubt i would even notice it. definately looking into it as i don't want to upgrade as now my upgrade would cause a new m/b, cpu and video card to go pci-e, no sense going agp anymore...

I came up to the point where I wanted to upgrade but Id pretty much need an entire new machine.

My 9800Pro is scorching hot at the moment even in the cool conditions here and no graphical strain. Im waiting for Sapphire to tell me whether I need to send it back or not. I know its most likely nothing serious but I dont want to buy a Zalman, void my warranty and have the card die on me the next day.
