9800pro cooler very noisy - Vantec Iceberq?

The stock cooler on my 9800pro is extremely loud and annoying while the PC is booting up but, mysteriously, becomes quiet again once booting is complete. Since my father uses the PC in the mornings before he goes to work (07:30) and my room is within 10 feet of it, I'm looking at replacing the cooler.

I'm wondering if this kind of thing comes under the warranty (could Sapphire send me a free replacement?) but, if not, I've been looking at the Vantec Iceberq series. They all seem great but the 6000 rpm fan speeds seem a bit excessive. Can anybody out there attest to how quiet/noisy these are?

If you replace the cooler get either the Artic Cooling ATI Silencer or The Zalman VF-700.

IMHO I think the VF-700 is better, but if you case ventilation sucks then the ATI Silencer would probably be better.
But I would get the VF-700, either the AlCu or the all Cu one.

replacing the fan voids the warranty, so make sure you keep the old one around in case you need to send it back (I learned the hard way with my 9700 aiw pro).

I had the VF700 on my 9800 and it can be made virtually silent. IMO, good choice.

I recently installed a VF700 on my 6800GT, and it made it nearly silent as well as lowering the idle temp's by about 13c.

Well worth it.
