What the link or the card.
But whoa.
I mean....its like....OMFG.
If they managed to get it working that would be one hell of a card.

Who wrote the article, Yoda?

EDIT: The mem chips look so small because the card is enormous...

Looks like two cores, but where's the RAM for the second one? lol. If you're gonna double up, double the hell UP!

BGA RAM chips usually are small. Plus, I don't usually see edited/spliced images that take perspective correction and lighting changes into account. Those GPU heatsinks are at different angles - not just duplicated.

Is that some kind of AIW board though? There's what looks like CD-audio type connectors on that board; is that Firewire and an SPDIF connector on the back too? And the LED display? What's that for?
Hopefully we'll hear more about this soon, assuming that it is in fact a true product.:)

Could be on the back of the board.

It's not a fake. It's an engineering prototype and the board doesn't work. It's physically impossible to design it such. The MAXX support has been in every ATi chip since the Rage Fury. Sapphire designed the board. Mark my words, it does exist.

I can assure you all that the Ati card is real, every Ati card since the Rage Fury can support multiple chips working in parallel (as stated above). Actually If I remember correctly up to 256 chips can be used together, but of course that would be very expensive and only used for rendering full resolution movies.

The 2 foot long Sapphire card has 2 GPU cores on it. What do you expect? How many GPU's do those fugly nvidia cards have?

Btw, I actually like the way the nvidia cards look. And, assuming nVidia got the design right this time with a quiet fan, they could have a good card on their hands. Too bad it will still have the same problems inherent to all NV3x cards, though...

I suspect the MAXX is a fake especially since ATi have repeatedly said that they have no plans to go dual-chip anytime soon.
