Seems like the 9800GTX in TRI-SLI is worth it only if you are getting a new computer system. The performance increase between the 8800GTX in TRI-SLI and 9800GTX in TRI-SLI is minimal at 2560X1600.

At a game resolution of 2560x1600 the we found that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl ran very well. Again, run with 4xAA we had little trouble playing through this game with everything maxed out in SLI or Tri-SLI. For some reason the GeForce 8800 GTX was the card to have in this game as it was 8% faster than the new GeForce 9800 GTX in 3-way SLI. The GeForce 8800 GTX was also faster in single card and SLI configurations.
