9800GTX Status...Any Updates?...

I'm very interested in the 9800GTX & I'm wondering if anyone has any solid information about its release...The information on the net just seems like one big joke...

I'm actually pretty serious about the card...I'm holding off on purchasing my 8800GT's since I'll be using them to Step Up with Evga...I'd hate for my Step Up to run out before the 9800GTX comes out...

I emailed their Sales Support Team, but I'm not expecting them to divulge much information...Maybe some of you guys have some inside info not yet published or shared on the web...

I am guessing that nvidia will decide those things when the 3870X2 comes out on the 23rd... Details would most likely be finalized depending on the capability of that card.

...hmm.. 9800 GTX, GT would be released in June? That's pretty late for cards that uses G92. Last time I checked they were talking about feb/march

Yea, same here, like a 9800GTX!...This sux because I'm not buying the 8800GT's until I know something for certain...I can't afford to buy (2) 9800GTX's at once, but I can afford to pay half the price & spread it out...Which is why I want to buy an 8800GT this month & the other one next month...Then I could do the same thing with the GTX's & that makes it a lot more affordable for me...

Is there a reason you aren't interested in 9800 GX2? I'm pretty sure that Tom's Hardware and TCMagazine.com both have reported Feb 14th as an unofficial launch date. In this case there is still a new model to step up to in the future.

If you are concerned about price, on both the GTX and GX2, those numbers are currently complete speculation.

The GX2 is of no interest to me...Look at what happened to the last GX2 card...No thanks...I'll wait for the GTX...That product line has been very successful & will have full driver support without concern of being dropped like a bad habit...

I'm not worried about pricing...I said buying 2 brand new GTX's at launch is a lot of cash & I'd rather spread it out over a month...
