I was going to sell my 9800pro on ebay, but after seeing the prices they are going for it's just not worth it...

Well since its not worth it to sell it, you might as well just give it to me :D... I'll wait for your PM to confirm my shipping address.

I'm disappointed by the resale value of my spare geforce3 card too. Why can't I sell it for anywhere close to the $239 I paid? Why!?!

Word of advice ...if you want to sell used hardware on Fleabay and make money sell it 5 minutes out of the box ;)

Heh. They are the correct price now IMO. They weren't worth what they were going for a few months back, not with 6600gt agps at around the same price point.

Exactly. Time reduces the value of old video cards like my geforce and Wadded Beef's 9800 Pro to a fraction of their original value. I was just joining in the pointless ranting against the inevitable loss of value.

It's still a great card. Hold on to it as a backup just in case. I was stupid for selling the last one I had so I got my hands on another one. It's not going anywhere.

I play Far Cry, CS:S, NFS:U, it's all good

It's tough to price graphics cards these days, espeically used ones, because the seperation between low-end and high-end has gotten so wide performance-wise and so narrow price-wise.

Look at it this way, if you price a 9700 Pro at $60, it's only $5-10 more than a new FX5200, and at least 3x as powerful. OTOH, price it at $125 and it's only $25 less than a new, much more powerful 6600GT...
