9800 Pro vs 9800 AIW, Question

I have been waiting patiently for a Radeon 9800 AIW for my pc, so that I may hook it up to my Mitsubishi HDTV. I figured this would be the best card for that purpose, and TV on the PC never hurt.

Recently though I purchased a Hitachi 17" 16ms LCD, and plan on purchasing another and running dual displays. I just noticed some stuff on ATI's page about the AIW and Pro, and decided I would ask these questions hopefully someone with experience can help me.

On the 9700 AIW and 9800 AIW under display support on ATI's site it says:

Display Support
One display (VGA or DVI) simultaneously connected with a TV or VCR
YPrPb output adapter (available in North America only)

For the 9800 Pro it says:

Display Support
VGA connector for analog CRT
S-video or composite connector for TV / VCR
DVI-I connector for digital CRT or flat panel
Drive two displays simultaneously with independent resolutions and refresh rates

So clearly we can see the 9800 Pro supports dual display, what about the 9800/9700 AIW? I hope I have not been waiting all this time only to have to buy a video card I could have purchased a month ago. So now I wonder, can anyone with a 9700 AIW say wether or not it works with dual monitors please.

Another question, would it be better to use one display on DVI, and one on Analog, or both Analog, so that they seem almost identical in image quality?

(Edit: This is concerning the use of 2 LCDs not the use of the HDTV and an LCD, just to clarify.)

No, the AIW can't do dual display... at least not dual monitors. It can do a monitor and a TV-out however.

Definitely get one running DVI... there is a noticeable improvement over analog. I'm waiting for dual dvi videocards myself before i invest in a 2nd LCD.

Thanks for the help Moralpanic guess I will be buying a 9800 Pro, and an ATI RGB adapter for the TV then.

Any idea if anyone is planning on releasing newer gen cards ie 9700/9800 with dual DVIs I could probably wait for that :)

I would rather use 1 analog 1 dvi though on a 9800 Pro then suffer being stuck with a dual dvi G4TI4200.

Dual monitor support was one of the things sacrificed on the AIW to make room for all the other stuff on the back of the card. I believe I have read as much in a few articles.

"What is HDTV?!"

Well pelleplu HDTV stands for "Horny Dirty Turkey Vultures", it a subset of the scrotum genus. These turkeys are wild!! I recently saw a nature documentary about them called "Horny Dirty Turkey Vultures gone Wild". It is very good i suggest you watch it as soon as possible.
