I've been doing some reading and it seems that an R360 core and Hynix memory are the things to have to flash your 9800 pro to an xt. I have the hynix memory, but an R350 core. I will be getting a vga silencer rev 3 in a couple of days, so I was wondering if it was worth it or not. Comments? Thanks.

Sure

STUDY (that means read carefully or you will destroy your card) THIS:

The Radeon 9800 Pro To Radeon 9800XT Mod Guide Rev. 4.0!

Do not . . . repeat . . .DO NOT flash a r350 core to ANY XT. :p

. . .

. . . unless you are planning to upgrade to ANOTHER video card. ;)

That doesn't have the correct looking heatsink to be an r360 core.

it's kinda hard to tell from pictures . . . :p

the way to be CERTAIN is to remove your HS and look at the core - it will state "r350" or "r360" ;)

the performance increase of a 128MB pro into an XT is much less than the 256MB ver > XT. Also - even if you DO have the r360 core, you will have NO thermal temperatures nor Overdrive (as with the 256mB ver) . . .

if you are SET on flashing, then CONFIRM your r360 core or forget the flash. ;)
