If you please, what means "match the power" ?

As has been stated numerous times, the LE and GT have different RAM and memory interface.

the reviews on newegg say that the newer ones that newegg is shipping arnt the same core as the old ones and so WILL NOT unlock, iirc.

*prepares to get flamed for reading newegg reviews*

Wouldn't be surprised as this has happened with previous generation cards.

UNLOCKING IS NOT 100%

So just because you know 2 people who have unlocked it, that means it will unlock for everyone?

I say unlocking IS 100%.

Problem is that glitch-free operation after unlocking is NOT 100%.

Minor difference. 😉

I had an "Apollo" branded 6800LE. Rivatuner can unlock it just fine, but the disabled pipes were glitchy. One set worked, but the auto overclock test would fail the GPU at any speed and there were minor visual glitches if you looked for them, otherwise you wouldn't notice them. Because it wouldn't overclock because of the failed test, the "trick" was to overclock FIRST, then enable those pipes. 😀

The other set of pipes was totally bad. I tested the two blocks of four pipes independently of each other and the second set gave immediate wild visual glitches in 3DMark and would lock the machine right after the first benchmark started.

Sold the card to a friend. Even at default pipes/clocks of an "LE" it performed about 30-50% better than the FX5900 it replaced.
