ya. but I woulda been content w/ $172, I didnt really feel like paying $204...I knew price was gonna drop soon, just didnt know how long and I couldn't wait any longer so I caved in and bought it...

After some research I have concluded the card is most likely NOT a 9800 pro...I went on sapphire's website and got model numbers....and the 9800's are listed with model # 102-Axxxx and so on

The 9600 XT and below are listed as 1024-xxxx and so on.....this card is a 1024 card....

So im suggesting itz a 9600 XT....but not sure...hopefully it ISNT true, and even if it was newegg may still honor that price

However, a few others stores have card at such low price so it is probably true, newegg mighta just got picture wrong..

I wonder since it's not listed on Sapphire's Excel sheet that maybe it is a new version of their 9800 Pro card, possibly with a lower-cost production method or cheaper components?

This card is available for $175 at ZipZoomFly, so I doubt it's a price mistake. Card prices are falling because of the X800/6800.

The one on zipzoomfly is listed as 128-bit. The one on newegg is listed at 256-bit. Aren't all 9800 pro's suppose to be 256-bit?

New model perhaps to clear out excess R350/360 cores. But 128 bit would suck.

ZZF's card is showing 128-bit DDR in the description, and standard 9800 Pro's have 256-bit DDR. Buyer beware on this one.

I'm guess the ZZF card is either a regular 9800 or a 9800 SE. Maybe that's the case also with the newegg one too.

Whoever ordered the $172 newegg model, please let us know what it is. Please.

I didn't know there was a "9800 Pro 128-bit". There are 9800SE's, but those are completely different cards...

No. 9800 SEs are 256 bit.

Again, if you look at the picture, it shows a Radeon 9500 Pro. Either newegg got the pics wrong, or got the description wrong. Either way, if you recieve the wrong card, you can most likely take it up with Newegg for false advertising.

Any one notice the RAM chips are not the little BGA chips? the are bigger TCM chips which ussually have alot slower memory clocks.... Hmmm I donno what is with the card hope we get info soon.

EDIT: Also did anyone see that Sapphire just had a press release about Radeon 9550's? could it be misslabeld and be one of them. As this has inline memory so it is probably 128bit.

EDIT2: Also ForceCaliber I have NEVER seen a 9500pro with that type of RAM. 9500Pro's are all BGA chips.
