9800 pro from newegg

Hi, I am getting ready to buy a 9800 pro and was planning on waiting untill sunday night to see if prices will fall, does anyone think they will drop at all over the weekend?? or should I just buy now before they are OOS again??

I don't really think they'll drop over the weekend, at least not anything substantial.

I doubt also. I am going to buy it but will probably wait 1 more week. I know this may sound dumb but I have always used nvidia and those ati drivers just scare me abit. So much bloat to them it seems and conflicts. Someone ease my mind, hehh.

also, does anyone know the warranty lengths for the retain and oem sapphire 9800p on newegg?

The next generation release will drop the price significantly. I would give it a month or two unless you're desperate. Do you really have any games that you must run with everything at max?

The Catalyst package is pretty straightforward actually. Driver Cleaner works well to wipe drivers and start fresh. I just updated 3 of my rigs with Cat 4.2's (AIW 7500, 8500le and AIW 9700pro) with no issues this week, and another rig with the new forceware (ti4200) last night. I can't say either were anymore difficult than click/wait/reboot.

The retail prices for a 9800 Pro have dropped greatly right now. Go check them out, Im just pissed that they did it right after I got my OEM 9800 Pro.

Thanks for replies all ,I am glad I spent some time reading boards They have the 9800 pro Retail at Compusa going onsale tommorow for $199 after 30 MIR I went down tonight to check there stock the salesguy said they have plenty in stock but only 1 on shelf.
