Well here is a situation.Yesterday I messed a littke with Mhz settings on my Radeon 9800 Pro, it was laready overclocked quite seriouslt, but I wanted to get a bit more performance out of it.Well the testing went fine, but after I restarted the computer, POST screen was perfectly good, but on Windows Log on, the screnn turned black and started blinking for about 5 sec, after it topped blinking, some kind of completely messed up image came up.Well I couldnt log on inot windows, so I went to the safe mode(by pressing F5 on the POST screen), and it booted finally.Everything looked pretty good in Safe mode, i thought to reinstall my softmod drivers, I used them to overclock my card coz the normal caalyst drivers dont allow the overclocking. With softmod drivers it didnt bot again, so I went again to the safe mode and installed the Omega drivers, same here.
Fianlly I installed the official catalyst drivers and STILL it didnt want to normally boot the Windows log on screen, again in the safe mode again reinstalling the drivers, I didnt have any more drivers available , so I installed the drivers from my graphic card which came with the disc, this time to all my hopes it STARTED, woohoo I thought, but...after looking around in normal Win XP, I noticed that all moved kinda slow, really slow, and then it hung up, restart... log on passed again slow , well it said something about the problems with VPU recover program...Another restart around the 30 tiest I think, this time all waas good, it wasnt slow anymore, and my games worked, but still none of the drivers form softmod, or even the Catalyst drivers dont want to work with my card this time, they all worked perfectly fine before, and with this normal ASUS dirver I cant tweak or oc my card anymore....

So Im asking for help, if someonme knows what is the problem please reply, please dont post the comments like reinstall he drivers or such esay stuff, im know myself pretty good in the Hard stuff, and I really need the replys of proffesionalls form you.Thanks.

How exactly did you uninstall the drivers each time?

It sounds like the issues stem from a driver problem and not necessarily from OC'ing. I'd recommend you uninstall the current drivers and all associated programs like Radlinker and/or MultiRes. Then use Driver Cleaner to manually remove all traces of the ATI files (drivers, CCC, etc.).

Finally, reinstall the latest official ATI Catalyst drivers and see if the problem persists.

Hmmm...well maybe your 9800 Pro is trying to send you a message - stop overclocking it! If you already had it "overclocked quite seriously" and it worked OK you should have stopped there. You were already getting "free" performance but the added heat (and voltage if you increased the AGP juice) may have permanently damaged the GPU. If you are lucky and it works "fine" with the OEM drivers go with it and be happy you still have a functional card.

Blue Weasel gave you some good advice - but its' up to you whether you heed it or not. If you did everything he advised you to do like you say you did and its still no-go then either use the drivers off the CD and live without the card being OC'ed, or save your money and buy a new videocard.

P.S. - If you are young please don't start with that tired "I'm only _____ years old stuff" because I was working my tail off stocking shelves and walk-in freezers, sweeping floors, and even unloading semi-trailers full of stock at a market when I was nine for my family for a $5.00 a day. Mow lawns, do odd jobs, whatever.

I'm cranky without my morning coffee, rant over.

Yes, I don't understand the logic of some people. They nearly fry their card and can't get it to o/c again and they are all upset.

You are just lucky it works at all.
