9800 Pro - Fast Write on or off?

Just wondering, I've seen references to it before, but cannot remember specifics. Thanks.
 
i leave it off on all my systems.

Pretty much all cards have compatility problems with this setting on different configurations (there are configs that work, but there are LOT of instances where it doesnt).
 
I've had good luck with fastwrites being turned on in all my systems with all of my cards. GF4, 9500P, 9600P, GF FX, and now 9800P.
 
I've had problems with Call of Duty and Need for Speed: Underground with fast writes enabled. Mainly hitching problems, although the original version of Call of Duty actually caused the machine to lock up with fast writes enabled(yikes!). These stability problems don't buy you any performance, either -- framerates are the same for me either way. Now it's part of my routine whenever I install new Catalyst drivers to turn fast writes off.
 
On unless i get instability then Off.

No problems so they havent been turned off.
 
Never had a problem with fast writes either nv or ati, going back to 3dfx days (only 3dfx card was pci though), but I leave it off anyway, it's useless.
