9800 Pro does Beep, Beep, Beep

I just installed my new 9800 Pro and when I try to boot I hear Beep, Beep, Beep and the computer does not boot. I have an ASUS P4P800 motherboard, a P4 3.0 and 512 mb RAM.

Can you tell me if I did anything wrong? What can cause this?

Could it be that my PSU is not powerfull enough? I have a cheap 300 watts PSU.
 
First check if you have the extra power plug for the 9800 Pro plugged in. If that's ok, then you don't have enought power to power the system.

And buy a new PSU anyway 300Watt is a POS. You might be on thin ice with that system.
 
Okay...dumb question here but gotta rule out the obvious: Did you connect the card's power cable? Is the card seated correctly?

Also, don't use the supplied power connector that came with your video card. Hook up your video card directly from your floppy drive. There are cases of problems when using the supplied wiring.

If that doesn't work, disconnect everything but your hard drive/video card. This will at least rule out a PSU problem but you should be able to run it on 300W, though you certainly couldn't hurt yourself with some more juice.

Just a couple ideas based on limited info provided.
 
are you sure that the 9800pro is making the sounds? it could the motherboards speaker. try checking to pinpoint where the sound is comming from. if its the mobo, u can get a sheet of "beep codes" that will help you figure out what the computer is telling you. if it is the vid card, reseat the card, use a can of compressed air on the agp slot, and do the advice given by the previous posters.
 
One long, and three short beeps? If so, it means no video present. Try disconnecting any optical drives and unnecessary fans. Reseat your video card and make sure your AGP slot is clear of debris/dust bunnies. Give your 9800 its own independant line from the power supply using the PSU's floppy power connector. And what vid card did you have in there before?
